1.30 for 2pmCafe on Queen, 15 Queen St, Binalong PLUS zoom

A Brush with Poetry is an eclectic mix of poetry and other arts, held in the delightful ambience of Cafe on Queen, Binalong. Due to COVID it migrated online, and is currently A Room and Zoom event. Sometimes there’s music, sometimes a guest poet or MC, always a surprise because it’s open microphone.

Enjoy lunch, coffee, cake and more on the last Sunday of every odd month (sometimes January), March, May, July, September and November. All welcome.

A Brush with Poetry is a Binalong Arts Group Inc event, organised by Robyn Sykes. Lizz Murphy, one of the original co-organisers, remains a vibrant presence at the event. We are grateful to Jan and Adrian at Cafe on Queen for allowing us to use the old studio. It’s a great venue for poetry!

1.30 for 2pmStudio, Cafe on Queen, 15 Queen St Binalong

Always different, always exciting! An open mic event usually at Cafe on Queen, on the banks of the Balgalal Creek. All styles and genres welcome.

Cafe on Queen is a iconic building in Binalong. Over a century in age, it formerly operated as a General Store. It is also the site of the former Binalong Tea Rooms.

Part of the character of the place is the numerous nooks and crannies where people can congregate or be alone. Fancy lunch/coffee/cakes in the garden on a warm spring day? Or a toastie around the wood heater on a frosty morning? Or some great poetry in the old studio out the back.

If it’s poetry you are after, A Brush with Poetry is not to be missed! Held the last Sunday of every 2nd month, 1.30 for 2pm. Free open mike. Donations appreciated.
